The complete PIN shall be as follows:
The type of bushing is identified by a single letter in accordance with table I TABLE I. Bushing.
Letter Bushing type Bushing length
(inch)
--------------------
The shaft length is identified by a single digit and measured from the mounting surface in inches and eighths (see example).
Example:
4 = 4/8 or .500 inch.
5 = ⅝ or .625 inch.
6 = 6/8 or .750 inch.
7 = ⅞ or .875 inch.
The shaft ending shall be designated by a single letter in accordance with table II and figure 1. TABLE II. Shaft ending.
Letter Description
--------------------
The nominal total resistance value expressed in ohms is identified by a three-digit number. The first two digits represent significant figures and the last specifies the number of zeros to follow. Preferred nominal values are listed in table III. TABLE III. Preferred values.
