scope:

- This purchase description specifies the main and required characteristics for the operational performance and technical requirements of modular components which when properly configured will provide and automatic send-receive teleprinter (ASR) set.

This set will provide the full capability necessary for an operator to perforate paper tape, both independently and simultaneously with transmission to the printer and/or to a signal line, and to transmit the prepared tape automatically to a signal line. Capability will also be provided for manual initiation of automatic tape transmission. This equipment will be used in the existing FAA communication networks and will be suitable for continuous operation.
