Purpose. To prevent, control, or minimize environmental pollution by establishing a protocol for the management and disposal of chemical, toxic, and hazardous waste materials at JSC and Ellington Field.

Applicability. This directive applies to all civil service and contractor personnel located at JSC and NASA-owned facilities at Ellington Field. Disposal of chemical, toxic, and hazardous wastes that are generated by offsite contractors at non-NASA-owned facilities is the responsibility of the individual contractor generating the waste material.
