This regulation applies to the depot maintenance support of all weapons systems, end items, and their components by and for the Department of Defense (DoD). It provides the methods and processes to be utilized to assign or reassign the depot source of repair (DSOR). It describes joint programs and initiatives that have objectives of increasing interservice cooperation in a broad range of depot maintenance activities with common concerns such as technology issues, review of military construction (MILCON) requests for depot maintenance facilities, and joint business planning for depot maintenance.
