This specification covers two types of panoramic telescopes which provide four-power magnification and a tendegree field of view. They are equipped with numerical counters which indicate azimuth settings and corrections. A settable counter provides readings from deflection reference point (M137, M137A1) and a bearing reference point. The reticle pattern and counters numerals are radioactively illuminated.
intended Use:
The Panoramic Telescope, M137 and M137A1, when mounted on their respective telescope mounts are primarily intended to lay the howitzer in azimuth for indirect fire.
