This Standard relates to plastics (polyamide) hose and tubing used in automotive pneumatic braking systems. Hose and tubing manufactured to this specification is not to be used for the following applications:

from frame to axle or tractor to trailer connections,

within the first 6 ft (1.8 m) of the compressor discharge line,

in areas which are subject to attack by corrosive substances, eg battery acid,

at temperatures below -40°F (-40°C) or above 200°F (93°C),

at a working pressure in excess of 150 lbf/ir? (10 bar).
