This NES relates to the various types of rubber flexible pipes and bellows for use in ship and machinery systems of nuclear and conventional submarines. It excludes flexible pipes for hydraulic systems, covered by NES 381 and BR 3038 Part 10, and those for weapon systems which are the responsibility of Director General Weapons (Naval) (DGW(N)).

Through Life Requirement

This NES covers the through life requirements of flexible rubber pipes and bellows, from design, type testing, procurement, packaging, storage, installation, maintenance, and replacement to subsequent disposal.
