INTRODUCTION

This bulletin contains pressure-temperature ratings of carbon, low alloy and stainless steel pope commonly used in power plant piping systems within the scope of the Power Piping Section of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Code for Pressure Piping ASME B31. 1, and for 4" nominal size and larger used under ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section I. No allowances have been included in these ratings for corrosion, erosion, or for fabrication tolerances, such as thinning due to bending. The allowable stress values and formulae used are in accordance with the B31.1 Code at the time of this publication. Pipe wall thicknesses and weights are as given in ANSI B36.10, except stainless steel in schedules 5S, 10S, 40S, and 80S which conform to ANSI B36.19.
