scope:
This specification covers the general requirements for generator sets (hereinafter referred to as "set" or "sets"), skid mounted, tactical, quiet, alternating current, diesel engine driven, 5 through 60 kilowatts.
The sets shall be tactical and of the following modes and sizes:
MODE: I - 50/60 Hz II - 400 Hz III - 60 Hz SIZE: 5 - 5 kW, MODE II and III 10 - 10 kW, MODE II and III 15 - 15 kW, MODE I and II (12.5 kW at 50 Hz) 30 - 30 kW, MODE I and II (25 kW at 50 Hz) 60 - 60 kW, MODE I and II (50 kW at 50 Hz)

The set shall be rated 0.8 power factor (pf), lagging, and shall be re-connectable for the following voltages:
- 5/10 kW, 60 Hz and 400 Hz a. 120-volt, single phase, 2 wire b. 120/240-volt, single phase, 3 wire c. 120/208-volt, 3-phase, 4 wire - 15/30/60 kW, 50/60 Hz and 400 Hz a. 120/208-volt, 3-phase, 4 wire b. 240/416-volt, 3-phase, 4 wire.

This document clarifies the limits, test methods and general procedures to be used for measurement of EMI on mobile electric power generating sources (MEPGS). Clarification as to the use of MIL-STD-462 is included. This document is intended to be used as a clarifying supplement for the use of MIL-STD-462 and does not replace MIL-STD-462.
