INTRODUCTION

This Defence List relates to Joint Services requirements of pneumatic tools and accessories.

Data given is intended as a guide and represents the minimum standard that will be accepted. Any enquiries regarding the sheets enclosed should be addressed to the Authority named in the tender or contract.

The scale of standard accessories shown represents a minimum and shall be provided with the equipment.

All corresponding parts shall be fully interchangeable between all tools from any one contract.

The air consumption quoted is at full load at approximately sea level, and refers to cubic feet of free air per minute at the stated delivery pressure.

At the time of tendering, the tenderer shall give full particulars of any proposed deviations from the requirements set out in the sheets.

The handle fittings on pneumatic tools have, in the past, been described in many different and confusing ways. The diagrams shown in Fig. 1 depict the types of handles referred to by the terminology used in these sheets.

The tools and accessories shall be in accordance with all appropriate standardization requirements as set out in Standardization Design Memoranda (N), (L) or (A) and in Standard Stores Memoranda (Land Service), as well as being in conformity with appropriate British Standards.
