scope:
- This specification covers equipment for automatic dial telephone systems of various capacities, suitable for operation in Naval ships as independent systems and for switching into shore exchanges. It includes telephone instruments, automatic exchange switchboards, small manual switchboards for connection to shore exchange trunks, power conversion equipment, and miscellaneous units.
- Dial telephone equipment shall be of the following kinds and types as specified (see 6.1):
Telephone station equipment:
Type A - Telephone sets for horizontal mounting (desk).
Type C - Telephone sets for fixed bulkhead mounting (splashproof).
Type D - Telephone sets for special intercommunication.
Type F - Telephone sets for vertical plane mounting.
Type G - Telephone sets for horizontal or vertical mounting.
Relays for extension signals.
Dial switchboard equipment:
25 lines.
40 lines.
50 lines.
100 lines.
150 lines.
200 lines.
300 lines.
400 lines.
500 lines.
600 lines.
700 lines.
Power equipment:
Power control cabinet
Motor-generator or rectifier.
Accessory equipment:
Manual switchboard.
