This specification relates to polyethylene materials pigmented with carbon black which are intended for the production of moulded or extruded articles suitable for use with drinking water. These materials have weather resistant properties.

In the normal granular form, polyethylene containing carbon black can absorb moisture to a degree which, although small, may affect subsequent processing. In some circumstances it may be necessary for material complying with this specification to be dried immediately prior to use.
