This Standard specifies fording and flotation requirements for the equipment defined in clause 7.a.
This Standard allows flexibility in respect of the fording and flotation requirements for towed radar, and towed guided weapons systems,. However, sponsors may insist that any equipment that is vital to operations is to be capable of crossing water, of depth negotiable by the specified prime mover, without becoming inoperable.
This Standard deals with policy and is intended to be used as a reference document in Staff Requirements and other relevant specifications.- Although it may refer to various design concepts or features, this Standard does not specify the adoption of a particular design solution.
