scope:

This specification covers the requirements for technical manuals containing aircraft structural repair instructions, excluding battle damage repair. In addition to paper delivery, this specification provides for electronic delivery of data.

The acquiring activity will specify whether battle damage data will be provided as a separate manual or as an appendix to the basic manual (see 6.2). When issued as a separate manual, the cover/title page of both manuals must reference each other.

The level of detail contained in this performance specification is necessary to comply with the requirements of the Joint Computer-aided Acquisition and Logistics Support (JCALS) system.

intended Use:

The technical manuals covered by this specification are intended for use by personnel to repair aircraft structure.
