scope:
This specification covers portable nonmagnetic hydraulic, remote reading tensiometers (used to measure towing tensions during minesweeping operations) and a tensiometer maintenance kit (see 3.7 and 6.1).
Tensiometers shall be of the following capacities, as specified (see 6.1):
0 - 5,000 pounds tension 0 - 10,000 pounds tension 0 - 20,000 pounds tension
intended Use:
The tensiometer assemblies are used for measuring towing tensions during mine sweeping operations.
