This ETS sets out the minimum performance requirements and technical characteristics for float-free satellite Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs), operating in the COSPAS-SARSAT satellite system, concerning radio communications for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).
