PURPOSE.

This order provides guidance on procedures for obtaining authorization to operate within airspace designated as RNP-4, Oceanic and Remote Areas, whereupon meeting the criteria an applicant may be approved to operate within RNP-4 airspace. It contains navigation sensor and system, airworthiness, and operational requirements. As described within this order, additional communication, and surveillance equipage Automatic Dependent Surveillance (ADS), Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC), as well as aircraft and flightcrew capabilities may be required to satisfy operational performance.
