scope:
This standard applies to gas hose connectors (see Part IV, Definitions), hereinafter referred to as connectors. A connector shall be:

a. For connection to the gas supply piping of laboratory, shop or ironing equipment that requires mobility during operation and is observed or supervised during use;
b. For use only in unconcealed indoor locations
c. For use only in locations where they will not be exposed to excessive temperatures [above 125 F (51.5oC)];
d. For use only with natural, manufactured or mixed gases having a specific gravity less than 1.0; and
e. For use on gas piping systems having fuel gas pressures not in excess of ½ psig (3.45 kPa).
If a value of measurement as given in this standard is followed by an equivalent value in other units, the first stated value is to be regarded as the specification.
