This Defence Standard (DEF STAN) covers the engineering principles for the construction of Versatile Console System (VCS) Units and their consoles and assemblies, both in standard and miniature form, and is applicable to HM Surface Ships, Submarines, Ship and Weapon Systems and Equipment.
The concise construction details are portrayed in this Standard with the use of metricated figures and diagrams and photographic illustrations. Service Drawing Numbers (SDN) are included where applicable.
Environmental Requirements and Testing are included.
