PURPOSE. This procedure identifies the method by which supervisors, Product Design Leads (PDLs), and/or Product Managers (PMs) make employees aware of the relevance and importance of employees' activities in relation to achievement of Center quality objectives; establishes the process for the identification, accomplishment, and documentation of needed QMS training; and addresses how personnel competency is determined through employee qualification and performance evaluations.

APPLICABILITY. Employee qualification, competence, and performance effectiveness apply to all Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) employees.

QMS training procedures apply to all GSFC organizations and employees involved in the products and processes covered by the scope of the GSFC QMS. This GPG is intended to cover only QMS training related to acquiring or maintaining competencies and does not address developmental training. QMS training requirements were applicable to all new and reassigned GSFC employees on or after January 4, 1999.
