This Standard provides performance requirements and test methods for evaluating the visibility, legibility, and power consumption of internally lighted exit signs. Visibility requirements have been developed based on assumed normal visual acuity and normal colour-sightedness in clear air at a maximum viewing distance of 30.5 m (100 ft).
Note: The Scope does not imply that all exit signs conforming to this Standard may be visible to all people under all conditions.
This Standard does not apply to flashing exit signs.
The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only
