scope:

The equipment specified herein is a Radar Bright Display Equipment (hereafter abbreviated RBDE) system capable of transforming radar video and other forms of rho-theta video information into television information capable of being displayed in normally lighted rooms. Under this specification, interface provisions are made for the operation of this RBDE system with equipment external to the RBDE system. Provisions are made to synchronize two or more RBDE systems procured under this specification from one common synchronizing generator of a single system. Each RBDE system will have the capability of incorporating into the system a minimum of ten operating scan converters and twenty operating displays. Design features are incorporated to provide reliability and ease of maintenance during continuous operation. The specification permits the Government the option of buying complete systems or any combination of system subassemblies, for example, scan converter equipment groups only, display equipment groups only, etc., as specified in the contract schedule.
