This Standard sets out the electrical requirements for recreational vehicles that are intended to be connected by a cord an attachment plug to a source of electrical supply not exceeding 250 V between conductors or 150 V to ground in accordance with rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.

This Standard does not apply to

(a) park model trailers conforming to CSA Standard CAN/CSA-Z241 Series; or

(b) the 6 or 12 V battery-operated vehicular lighting and brake wiring systems that are described in CSA Standard Z240.1.2, provided that the conductors of this system are not in contact or cannot come in contact with the conductors of the higher voltage system.

The requirements of this Standard are based on CSA Standard C22.1, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I. Where no specific requirements are given, those of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, apply.
