scope:
Purpose.
To prescribe regulations to govern the promotion continuation of Limited Duty Officers (LDOs) on the active duty list (ADL) and Chief Warrant Officer (CWOs) on the warrant officer ADL. This instruction is a complete revision and should be reviewed in its entirety.
Applicability.
Provisions of this instruction are effective immediately and apply to:
a. The promotion of permanent and temporary LDOs serving on the ADL to higher grades, except the promotion of LDO ensigns to the grade of lieutenant (junior grade), which is governed by reference (a).
b. The promotion of CWOs serving on the warrant officer ADL to higher warrant officer grades.
c. The continuation on active duty of eligible CWOs, and temporary and permanent LDOs serving on the ADLs.
