This standard applies to hand-held reciprocating sanders, belt sanders, orbital sanders and random orbital sanders. It does not apply to disc-type sanders which are covered by EN 50144-2-3. This standard does not give requirements for the design of the tool for the reduction of the risk arising from noise and vibration.
