This specification describes the performance, interface, and test requirements for a voice digitizer (VODIG). The VODIG equipment shall provide a full and half duplex speech compression and digital encoding capability at 2400 bits per sec. VODIG will be employed as part of a secure voice system in both HF and wireline terminals.
intended Use:
The VODIG is intended for use both shipboard and at shore installations.
