Organization: MODUK
Publication Date: 15 November 2002
Status: active
Page Count: 14
scope:

This standard specifies requirements for one grade of corrosion preventive, hard film, transparent, cold application, for the preservation of structural members of airframes, hollow sections, the interior surface of aircraft skins, and in other applications where a hard, transparent film is required. PX-32 may be applied to bare metal or over an existing paint system using airless or air-assisted pressure feed spraying techniques at ambient temperatures above 10°C. It is designed to produce a surface-dry film within 24 hours of application, and to be effective with a dry film weight of (40-60) g/m2, where this can be achieved. It is also suitable for application by brush for touch-up purposes to small areas. Removal may be effected by spraying, brushing, or wiping, with suitable hydrocarbon solvents, e.g. white spirit or kerosene.
