This Defence Standard defines MOD(PE) requirements in addition to the Quality Requirements of AQAP-1 and AQAP-4 for the Manufacture, Repair and Conversion of Aircraft and Hunitions Parachutes and Parachute Assemblies. Harnesses and Personnel Restraint Harnesses for use in Aircraft, and their Metal fittings.

This Defence Standard also covers operational packing of parachute assemblies by contractors and a requirement for "in use" equipment. For the purpose of this Defence Standard "in use" equipment are those items which are used for test flying or delivery of aircraft or equipment by contractors to the requirement of HOD(PE) Contracts.
