scope:
This specification covers minimum performance and safety requirements for a multichannel Radio Set (Transceiver), AN/URC-( ), utilizing frequency modulation in the 156 megahertz (MHz) through 162 MHz frequency range. The Radio Set, hereinafter referred to as the equipment, shall provide voice communications subject to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations associated with shipboard stations in the Maritime Service.
intended Use:
The equipment, covered by this specification, is intended for shipboard application to satisfy communications requirements in the Maritime Service in both national and international waterways.
