Purpose of This Order.

The purpose of this order is to provide requirements and guidelines to protect AFS personnel from falls while performing work-related duties on or near unprotected elevated working surfaces that are greater than four feet in height. This order is applicable to airport ramp operations and other industrial-type work locations. It is beyond the scope of this document to address slip/trip/fall hazards in office environments. Appendix A, Fall Protections Definitions, defines many of the terms used in this order.
