This standard prescribes the requirements for new issue fire extinguishers for use on London Underground rolling stock.
Servicable extinguishers that are compliant to LU specification G6000 A3 may continue to be used until they become unserviceable or life-expired or are refurbished. Unserviceable and life-expired extinguishers shall be replaced by fire extinguishers compliant to this standard.
This standard replaces engineering specification G6000 A3.
Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to define the technical requirements to which trainborne fire extinguishers must comply when used on London Underground rolling stock.
