IEEE 334
Qualifying Continuous Duty Class 1E Motors for Nuclear Power Generating Stations
Organization: | IEEE |
Publication Date: | 15 September 2006 |
Status: | active |
Page Count: | 29 |
scope:
This standard establishes criteria for qualification of continuous duty Class 1E motors, located in mild and harsh environments in nuclear power generating stations in order to demonstrate their ability to perform their intended safety functions under all required conditions. This standard does not apply to motors used in valve actuators (see IEEE Std 382™-1996 [B2]1).
Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to provide direction for the implementation of the requirements of IEEE Std 323™-20032 as they apply to the specific features of continuous duty safety-related electric motor qualification. This standard also provides guidance for qualification of refurbished motors and insulation systems for motor rewinds.
