Scope of technical documentation
Technical documentation comprises all information being produced by a manufacturer or distributor in parallel to the product development and to the product life cycle.
Figure 1 shows the area of the technical documentation and its subdivision into internal technical documentation and external technical documentation.
In this guideline the subdivision will be further subdivided and explained.
In Figure 1, the product observation is placed with the internal technical documentation. The responsible editors of the internal technical documentation generate and transfer the requirements for the product observation to those in charge of the external technical documentation.
