scope:
The present guideline deals with the specification of microgeometric surface texture in technical documentation. It will in particular show, with the aid of a comprehensive range of examples, the form that specification should take when it is necessary to depart from "standard" specifications. A knowledge of the terms, definitions and characteristic parameters of surface measurement is assumed (see VDI/VDE 2602 Part 1 and Part 2).
