scope:
Part 2 of VDI 3677 describes depth filters (also called air filters) serving to remove particulate contaminations from the supply, exhaust, and recirculated air of ventilation and air-conditioning systems, and from process air.
The VDI 3677 Part 1 describes surface filters serving to remove solid particles from gases for the purpose of emission control [5].
