Lifts - Energy efficiency

active, Most Current
Organization: VDI
Publication Date: 1 March 2009
Status: active
Page Count: 26
ICS Code (Lifts. Escalators): 91.140.90
scope:

This guideline applies to the assessment and rating of the energy efficiency of new passenger and goods. It may also be used for the later determination of the energy efficiency of existing lifts, as well as to check energy demand figures given by the manufacturer and to determine the estimated power consumption.

The purpose of this guideline is to allow a universally comprehensible and transparent assessment of the energy efficiency of lifts based on methods for evaluating and testing their energy demand. This provides builders, architects, planning consultants, assembly and maintenance companies and operators with the opportunity to include the energy demand of lifts into their assessment of the energy efficiency of buildings and to select beneficial products.

This guideline establishes the basis for an energy rating of lifts within the framework of the total energy efficiency of buildings. The result may be represented by adding an energy certificate for lifts and handing it to the client as a supplement to the operation manual.
