active, Most Current
Organization: VDI
Publication Date: 1 April 2015
Status: active
Page Count: 24
ICS Code (Measurement of force, weight and pressure): 17.100
ICS Code (Metrology and measurement. Physical phenomena (Vocabularies)): 01.040.17
scope:

The application of this standard creates a uniform terminology for torque transducers which allows technical data to be compared and to be applied in data sheets and publications.

By the definitions the user will be enabled above all to obtain sufficiently detailed information for the selection and appropriate use of torque transducers. Some of the definitions relate specifically to torque transducers operating on the strain gauge principle, whereas others are applicable to force transducers with integrated amplifier electronics.

The terms are applicable to, for example:

• torque reference standards in calibration devices

• torsion testing machines
