This standard is meant for all groups involved in product and material recovery (e. g. legislators, manufacturers, dealers, importers, product users and waste management companies).
The purpose of this standard is to provide concrete directions and recommendations (e. g. minimum standards) for waste electrical and electronic equipment, based on the current legal situation, in order to forestall poor investments and unlock new rationalisation and investment potentials.
The following sections describe potential recovery paths for metals, synthetics and glass, and disposal paths for non-recyclable fractions.
