Management of waste from industry and business

active, Most Current
Organization: VDI
Publication Date: 1 March 2016
Status: active
Page Count: 23
ICS Code (Wastes in general): 13.030.01
scope:

This standard is intended for those in business who have legal and technical responsibility for the disposal of industrial waste or who are in charge of planning and implementing waste management processes.

This standard describes the legally compliant implementation of waste management for industry and businesses. Further guidance on disposal logistics, in particular for manufacturing companies, can be found in standard VDI 4413.

This standard describes procedures for disposing of specific types of industrial waste in terms of the legal framework. It does not address regional circumstances in detail, but limits itself to indicating which types of waste are subject to provisions under public law, taking into account the intended method of disposal.

Technical aspects of waste preparation are not covered.

This standard concentrates on the recovery and disposal of waste within the country, i.e. inland. It does not cover the recovery and disposal of waste abroad. Shipment abroad is covered by the provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 1013/2006 (Waste Shipment Regulation).
