This guideline applies to the ventilation of sales outlets of any size.
It is prerequisite to the classification of buildings or building sections as sales outlets that these areas
a) are used, either totally or in part, for the sale of goods,
b) have at least one saleroom, and
c) are not exhibition stand constructions.
This guideline is meant to be used for the dimensioning and planning of ventilation systems for sales and service outlets. It also applies to ancillary rooms unless other rules and regulations are applicable. Where areas of different uses form one unit with identical room-air requirements, the ventilation shall be tailored to these particular needs.
German Länder-specific special building ordinances pertaining to sales outlets must be observed.
The guideline is not applicable to the dimensioning of smoke exhaust systems for sales outlets.
