scope:
Purpose. This instruction establishes policy in the use of verbal, written, storage of, and/or display of position reference procedures for unilateral and joint operations of the U.S. Armed Forces and for multinational operations with the military forces of allied nations.
Applicability. This instruction applies to the Combatant Commands, Services, Defense agencies, and Joint Staff.
