scope:

This standard applies to factory-assembled commercial or industrial DX-Dedicated Outdoor Air System Units as defined in Section 3.

Energy Source. This standard applies to electrically operated, vapor-compression refrigeration systems.

Installation. DX-Dedicated Outdoor Air System Units are intended for ducted or non-ducted installation with field or factory supplied grilles.

Exclusions. This standard shall not apply to products covered under ANSI/AHRI Standard 210/240, ANSI/AHRI Standard 340/360, and ANSI/AHRI/ASHRAE ISO Standard 13256-1. Direct conversion of values from testing performed under AHRI Standard 920 (I-P) shall not be used.

Purpose. The purpose of this standard is to establish for DX-Dedicated Outdoor Air System Units: definitions; classifications; test requirements; rating requirements; minimum data requirements for Published Ratings; operating requirements; marking and nameplate data; and conformance conditions.

Intent. This standard is intended for the guidance of the industry, including manufacturers, engineers, installers, contractors and users.

Review and Amendment. This standard is subject to review and amendment as technology advances.
