PURPOSE AND SCOPE
This procedure defines how National Grid Transmission (Electricity) will both implement the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) and integrate their requirements into the business processes. It applies to all work which comprises the Transmission Electricity Capital programme utilising the Network Development Process (NDP).
It is recognised that for investments of medium and low complexity the full application of this Transmission Procedure (UKBP/TP137) may not provide the most efficient means of delivery, hence TP governance options as per UKBP/TP500 Appendix A can be applied to this procedure.
TP governance options defined in UKBP/TP500 Appendix A include those that are already detailed in this Transmission Procedure and those that are additional and not detailed in this Transmission Procedure.
NB: Whereas this procedure as a whole is tasked with addressing
the 2015 CDM Regulations, the 'Pre-Construction Information (PCI)'
and 'Construction Phase Plan (CPP)' also incorporate environmental
legislation, security and sustainability requirements.(Safety
