AIM

The aim of this NATO standardization recommendation (STANREC) is to list recommended practices regarding:

The STANREC covers the Allied Engineering Publication (AEP) 54 which describes the relevant NATO Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Collective Protection (CBRN COLPRO) design and performance parameters so that the required level of protection can be achieved based on currently available knowledge and information.

The operational requirements for CBRN COLPRO are described in Allied Tactical Publications 3.8.1 (Volume 1) and 70 which should be consulted in conjunction with this document. This document details those particulate and vapour challenges that may be posed to CBRN COLPRO and anticipated challenge levels. Technical specifications for CBRN COLPRO against which systems are to be tested are also described.
