scope:
This standard deals with dry lining and partitioning work. It covers in particular the making of open or closed ceiling linings and suspended ceilings, wall linings, dry plasterwork, internal insulation, facing panels and partitions, including those which are fire resistant, prefabricated screed, dry subfloors, floor systems, and the fitting of doors, frames and other fitments in the above constructions.
It also applies to dry lining and partitioning work in connection with the installation of embedded radiant heating and cooling systems.
This standard does not cover
- carpentry (see DIN 18334),
- plastering and rendering (see DIN 18350),
- laying of floor screed (see DIN 18353),
- joinery (see DIN 18355),
- metalwork (see DIN 18360),
- painting and coating work (see DIN 18363),
- flooring work (see DIN 18365).
DIN 18299, clauses 1 to 5 shall also apply. In cases where the specifications of DIN 18299 contradict the present standard, DIN 18340 shall take precedence.
