Aim

This document provides the fundamental principles for the recovery of personnel in a hostile environment, during North Atlantic Council approved NATO operations, taking into account nation's responsibilities and considerations where applicable.

The troop contributing nations may have differing Personnel Recovery (PR) philosophies, policies, priorities and capabilities. In a multinational force, an overarching PR doctrine is required in order to facilitate unity of effort and enhance PR measures.
