Organization: JSA
Publication Date: 20 October 2020
Status: active
Page Count: 15
ICS Code (Powder metallurgy): 77.160
scope:

This Standard specifies the funnel method for the determination of the apparent density of metallic powders under standardized conditions.

The method is intended for metallic powders that flow freely through an orifice of 2.5 mm diameter and a cone angle of 60°. It can, however, be used for powders that flow with difficulty through an orifice of 2.5 mm diameter and a cone angle of 60° but flow through an orifice of 2.5 mm diameter and a cone angle of 30° or an orifice of 5.0 mm diameter and a cone angle of 60°.

NOTE The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 3923-1 : 2018 Metallic powders - Determination of apparent density - Part 1 : Funnel method (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.
