This standard applies to new and altered London Underground (LU) station platforms; including setting out, paving, surfacing, edging, platform tactile strips, safety markings, platform accessibility humps, raised platforms and requirements when Platform Edge Doors (PEDs) are installed.

This standard applies to designers, contractors, suppliers and maintainers undertaking work within LU owned, managed or occupied operational premises.

This standard applies to LU staff undertaking maintenance, minor works and project work on the LU estate.

Note: Throughout this standard, PED are defined as being full height, top hung doors. Refer to 1-065 'Platform edge doors'.

Note: This standard is supported by G0131B 'Guidance on station platforms'.

Note: For platform structure and loading requirements, refer to S1053 'Civil engineering - building and station structures'.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to define the requirements for determining performance requirements for station platforms.
