This Defence Standard specifies the requirements for one grade of polyalkylene glycol based fluid suitable for use in an epicyclic gear transmission system which also incorporates both a hydrostatic steer unit, employing axial piston hydraulic pumps and motors, and the braking system.

This product may also be used in other land systems and marine gear applications. Details of such use may be obtained from the Technical Authority.

The product shall be suitable for use in equipment operating over the temperature range of minus 40°C to plus 150°C.

Caution: This fluid is not compatible with mineral-based oils and shall not be used in hypoid gear systems. The fluid is unsuitable for use with certain elastomers and may affect certain paint systems.
