scope:
This Standard relates to Servomotors, Permanent Magnet, dc. It is not complete in itself but shall be read in conjunction with Defence standard 61-14 (part 1) 'precision instrument, rotating servocomponents: PART 1: General requirements and common tests, in which latter shall be regarded as forming an inherent part of this document.
The standard requires that all motors complying with it and having the same type designation shall be physically, mechanically and electrically interchangeable. It specifies all the characteristics which are of interportance in using these components and the characterisics which are of requirements for those attributes which are relevant to dc permanent Magnet motors:
-Definitions, terms and conventions
-Type designation and marking
-Test requirement and methods of test
-Nature of test equipment
Physical and performance requirements for individual types of standard d.c. stepping motors are given in the relevent Supplementary Detail Sheets associated with this Standard.
NOTE: performance figure and their limits stated in the relevant supplementary Detail sheet are based on a close tolerance power supply and on test conditions which are strictly controlled. Under service conditions, these figure may be modified by the effects of power supply variations and of environmental conditions.
